Friday Photo Inspiration | Le Pont Alexandre III, Paris

Some of you may have already seen this shot via my Facebook Page, but for those who haven’t I wanted to share.I keep meaning to get in some night shooting, and as it happened, I shot the Julien Fournié show during couture week, which was held in a club called “Showroom” below the Pont Alexandre-III. It’s a fantastic bridge, one of my favorites in Paris so, even though it was raining outside, I couldn’t resist getting in at least one shot. If you’re in Paris for a visit you can take the métro to Invalides to get to the bridge, and I think it’s also quite close to the Grand Palais.

On the Street | After the Show, Paris

Even when a show ends, shooting does not. After a show is often a great opportunity for photos, as the models exit, usually with hair and makeup from the show still intact. Here are a few shots of some of the models after the Chanel Haute Couture show:If you’ve read the reviews you know the show was entirely done in shades of blue. The makeup included a slightly smokey, navy rimmed eye. Some of the girls got a messy, sort of faux-hawk up-do for the hair. While others had a slicked back look.Today was the last day of the haute couture shows, time to rest up until ready-to-wear!

On the Street | The Stars Come Out for Chanel Haute Couture, Paris

The Chanel Haute Couture show today, and as seen from various Twitpics, was as extravagant as ever with an airplane theme…as in, the Grand Palais was basically turned into a set complete with an airplane where guests were seated for the show with “in-flight” beverage service included. Anyhow, I buzzed around outside to get some street style shots and ended up getting a few shots of the celebs in attendance:Elizabeth Olsen making her way to the entrance.Diane Kruger was in attendance as well. The level of intensity when a celebrity arrived at the show was pretty crazy. Photographers and fans alike descend upon them, pushing and yelling to get a photo. I was actually pushed right in her path and snapped the above.Vanessa Paradis was one of the last to arrive. No surprise she was there of course, as she has been the face of Rouge Coco. Also no surprise to be in attendance, Lagerfeld muse, Baptiste Giabiconi.

Also at the show was Cameron Diaz, however no photo because the crowd went nuts when she arrived I could hardly move. I spotted Daphne Guinness and the lovely Inès de La Fressange exiting after the show.

On the Street | Haute Couture FW2012 Fashion Week, Paris – Day 1

Just as soon as one fashion week ends, another begins. Today marks Day 1 of the couture shows in Paris. Here are a few street shots around Alexis Mabille and Christian Dior.Inès de La Fressange outside Alexis Mabille.Outside Christian Dior it was madness. Photographers and onlookers everywhere, lining either side of the entrance and the entire sidewalk area surrounding the store where the show was held. I caught a glimpse of Cameron Diaz as she got out of her car and entered, sadly no photo.Et finalement, Anna Dello Russo. You can just see her head peeking out from behind all of those fluffy feathers.

Friday Photo Inspiration | Enter the Crowds, Paris

Just another quick shot from yesterday:This is pretty much the scene, day in and day out during fashion week, as crowds make their way to the shows. This is a shot of some people entering near the Jardin des Plantes before the Viktor & Rolf menswear show.

Have a fantastic weekend!

On the Street | Men’s Fashion Week FW2012, Paris

In spite of the weather not being amazing today, I ventured out for my first round of street style shooting for Trendstop.com during menswear Fashion Week in Paris. Although there were several shows I was interested in stopping by to survey the street scene, there’s only so much time between shows so I made it to Issey Miyake and then to Viktor & Rolf. Here are a few photos from the day:Hopefully the rain will stop while I’m out shooting over the next few days!

On the Street | Leather and Louis, Paris

Photo for Trendstop.com

Leather jackets seem to be a popular choice for a lot of men I’ve photographed on the streets of Paris, and I thought this longer version was unique as more often it’s the shorter, motorcycle style. I’ve also discovered that Parisian men are just as fond of their accessories as women are and often carry large carryalls or messenger bags. I think the Louis Vuitton bag he’s carrying adds a little something to the overall look as well.

On the Street | All Dressed in Black, Paris

In honor of Menswear Fashion Week starting in Paris tomorrow, I thought it would be a great opportunity to focus on men’s street style in my posts this week.I find that Parisians, like New Yorkers, are fond of wearing a lot of black. With just the scarf to add a bit of contrast, this all black look is pulled together with a lot of leather pieces: the tall, lace-up boots, shoulder bag and jacket. The boots are great and definitely still a fashion staple; I see combat style boots constantly while walking around and I still love them. While I won’t be shooting any of the menswear shows, I will be out to photograph the style on the streets surrounding the shows. If you’re in Paris and checking out some of the shows, perhaps you’ll see me!

Friday Photo Inspiration | Empty City Streets, Paris

When I was walking around in the evening this past week I took a few shots of the empty city streets. Particularly on Sunday in Paris certain areas seem almost like a ghost-town. Most businesses are closed on Sundays and things seem even more deserted at night.Yes, technically there is one person in this last shot, so not quite empty. I was playing with how exactly to shoot the lights that are still up. Although they have a star in the center, I thought these kind of looked like angel wings. I took a few others that I’m not quite sure I’m satisfied with so I may have to try again.

Have a lovely weekend!

On the Street | Feeling Blue, Paris

Walking around the streets of Paris shooting street style for Trendstop.com, I’ve noticed a lot of blue being worn, varying in shades of navy, cerulean and turquoise. I myself am a blue fan, it being my favorite color. Anyhow, here’s a bit of blue seen on the streets:I like the blue on blue with the sweater plus the coat. Also loved her coordinated all-over blue look, even down to the shoes! Also dig the hair with the hat, somehow I think the braids would look a bit childish on me, but she pulls it off.

Photos for Trendstop.com

His blue pants caught my eye. Absolutely that he paired them with other blue pieces but in different shades, the shoes being a slightly different blue and the detailing in the sweater with a slightly darker blue.

What do you think? Are you into wearing blue as a monotone look or perhaps just in acceessories?
