As I mentioned in my last post I spent Labor Day weekend visiting family in Ohio. Usually I say I’m traveling to Columbus, which is true because that’s where I fly into, but where my family actually lives is outside of Columbus…and basically feels like the middle of nowhere. Case in point:
Desert? Haha. Now that’s a little scary. Truthfully, it’s actually a nice area, a lot of land, quiet and a lovely vegetable garden that’s growing quite nicely. Living in NYC, I don’t have a yard of my own and apparently I can’t manage to keep a plant alive anyway, so it’s nice to have a little break and come home to this:
Anyway, the great part is you have all of the above, but it’s really only about a 45 minute drive (give or take) to “civilization.” The Short North area of Columbus is fantastic, and we spent Saturday evening checking out the Gallery Hop.
As for my photo taking, I didn’t quite accomplish everything I had originally set out to, including some family portrait shots, but there will be time for that eventually. Here’s a hint at the photo shoot I did manage:
There are MANY photos to go through, I have to sort them out and do my usual selection process, often a difficult task I find. I plan on doing a bit of editing on at least some and want to try out some PhotoShop work on a few before any go up, but perhaps I’ll reveal bits and pieces slowly as I go along this week.
It is, however, a very busy week. Why? Because it’s Fashion Week! The BEST WEEK…in NYC at least, and for all lovers of fashion such as myself. Do I have tickets? No. But I’m excited anyway. Fashion’s Night Out is Thursday and I have much prepping/planning to do.
