Fa-la-la Fall

I hope everyone had a fantastic Halloween full of tricks and treats. After visiting a craft supply store among other places I was able to pull my Gaga look together:

P-p-p Poker Face

Ah well, not the most flattering photo of me. My version of Gaga’s sunglasses featured above, though I also made the mirrored mask. So crafty am I, and dedicated to the look. The weather was a bit of a downer but still had a fun night out with friends. With the crowds my homemade spikey-diamond attachments didn’t last long.

Anyway, with Halloween now past I’m filled with anticipation for upcoming holidays! This is by far my favorite time of the year.

Central Park Stroll

I took this Saturday morning while waiting for the bus. It was a quick shot with my Panasonic point-and-shoot camera. Unfortunately it seems I moved slightly so it appears to be a bit blurred. I just loved how nice and well put-together this man seemed, particularly so early on the weekend. The colors of the falling leaves looked fantastic with the clean khaki trench.

I had the last session of photography class yesterday morning which is where I was headed as mentioned above. Finally shoot day! Considering the hectic start I think we were pretty flexible and things worked out nicely. When I arrived there was an issue with the ceiling apparently falling in? I’m still not entirely sure of what happened, but there was leaking water, etc. so that caused a slight delay and also a location issue. We were then going to do the shoot in an art studio, but got kicked out shortly after getting set up because students were arriving for a class. Luckily I was able to get in some shots before we had to get out of there which is great because I loved the background we had chosen for the first look, a very red with some black and white sort of abstract painting.

We finally ended up in what is referred to as the “graffiti room.” It turned out to be a very cool backdrop for the clothes we were shooting, and our model, Vanessa, was great to work with and especially good at posing. I’m going through the photos now and will try to get a few sneak peeks posted this week!
