The New Surrealism

It’s interesting, with the technology we have available today, how we can more easily manipulate photos to create almost a new art form. Photoshop gives us the ability to alter photos, apply effects, in a way that can often make a photographer’s work resemble a more painterly style.

Via PSFK, I came across Swedish photographer Erik Johansson‘s work:

Johannson is a student and freelance photographer who uses Photoshop in a more dramatic manner than your basic retouching. He creates surrealistic-like photos by altering objects, similar to the work of Dali…

…as well as perspective and size to create an illusion.

Definitely a unique approach to photography and his work.
