McQueen at the Met

Ever since it was announced that this year’s Met Costume Institute exhibit would feature clothes from the Alexander McQueen archives, I’ve been waiting for the May 2nd 4th opening. Along with the exhibit, Savage Beauty, a catalog was created featuring the clothes that will be on display and shot by Solve Sundsbo. The most interesting bit of information that has come out recently about that? The mannequin in the photo at the left…not a mannequin at all but a live model! The final result seen in the catalog was created using makeup, lighting and of course, Photoshop. While that doesn’t seem so unusual for fashion photography, I think it’s interesting that they took live models and actually made them appear to be mannequins. Can’t wait to check out this exhibit!
