Lifehacker.com recently posted a piece about how to become more photogenic by learning how genuine facial expressions feel as opposed to how facial expressions look. It’s an interesting idea and could possibly work. It makes sense, right? I mean, I’m sure we all know what a fake smile looks like when we see it on another person, so potentially practicing a genuine smile, even when you aren’t truly feeling it, could help in certain situations, i.e. having your photo taken when you don’t want to, are nervous, perhaps when giving speeches, etc. I imagine actors must do this often in order to appear to be reacting genuinely in scenes, and certainly practicing facial expressions, not just limited to smiling, could help models as well.
What do you think? Genuine smiles all around?
