For Your Consideration: Fashion Photography Submissions

A lot of thought and planning goes into a fashion photo shoot, as I’ve mentioned before, and often, particularly when you’re trying to gain tearsheets, you do them for submission. This usually means that you aren’t getting paid to do it, as it isn’t a commissioned shoot, and yet you still need to have a team, pull together some great looks and hopefully get some amazing shots that a publication will want. Hopefully. And sometimes, it just doesn’t happen. So, I thought I would give you a peek at some images that I shot quite a while ago and unfortunately just never got picked up:

Leather Jacket: Modern Vintage, Pants: R/H, Earrings: Trina Turk

Dress: Costume National, Platform Bootie: Guiseppe Zanotti

I shot these in a studio, and did some against black seamless and a few I chose to use the rest of the studio space. There was a really torn up black leather sofa that I thought would be really cool to use and that’s what the model is sitting on in the second image.

The images look nice but go easy with the retouching, the first black and white one is way over the top.. good luck
