LOVE your work!!!!! Any advice for photogs going to fashion week?

Thank you!! If you’re looking to shoot street keep your eyes open and be observant, and don’t be afraid to approach someone for a photo, especially during fashion week, they expect it anyway so take advantage. Also, don’t be afraid to be loud! When you’re in a group with a bunch of other photogs, it can be hard to get someone’s attention if you want them to look directly at you for the photo.

Thanks for the tips Brandi! I’m gonna be shooting at LA Fashion week for the first time so I don’t know what to expect and I’m kinda nervous LOL I appreciate the tips! One more question if u don’t mind? What does one wear to fashion week when shooting photos?

      • Brandie says:

No problem at all 🙂 Honestly how you dress for shooting during fashion week depends on your personal taste. There are plenty of photogs I notice dress stylishly enough they could easily be among the crowd of street style stars getting shot. However, you shouldn’t feel obligated to dress up. And, some might argue that if you’re there as a photographer, then you’re there to do a job, not get photographed. I usually try to maintain a look that’s semi-stylish (we are shooting fashion after all, and fashion is something I enjoy outside of photography) but also comfortable, particularly if I know I’ll be shooting shows as well as street because I carry around more equipment then. Good luck! Would love to see how your photos turn out.
